Grade 8 Boys Update

2 Big league wins this week for Gr 8 Boys. 52-6 vs CMS & 58-27 vs Highroad. Both games featured a stifling defence & team scoring effort with every player contributing. A season high 30 team steals vs CMS, & a highlight scoring spin move by Braeden MacDonald inspired the team to victory. At Highroad Aiden Henderson with 14 rebounds & 18 pts, combined with Braeden MacDonalds 10 rebs & 16 pts & a smothering defence led the team, but it was an incredible left hand reverse layup by Mitchell Price that brought the team to it’s feet, earning Mitch the “play of the game”. Arshia hit his first 3, & brought a smile to everyone’s face.

Grizzlies come out on top at the 2018 showcase!!!

Led by tournament mvp Geevon Janday, the grizzlies dominated the second half of the championship game against Elphinstone. The grizzlies played solid team defence throughout the game, and overcame early foul trouble, defeating Elphinstone 78-54.

Ty and Jude Hall were named to the 2nd allstar team, while Cole wicker was a first team allstar, and Janday took home tournament MVP honours.

The grizzlies now rear up before heading to Victory this Thursday to take place in the Oak Bay invitational.

Grizzlies basketball wants to thank all the amazing fans that came out over the three day tournament.
