Due to health concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19, GW Graham Athletics has elected to suspend all Athletics activities. Most sport governing bodies have shut down all activities at this point until April 15th, when they will reevaluate the situation. We will provide additional info following the end of spring break, at which time we will reassess health advisories and safety concerns. BC school sports looks to do the same. Please see BC school Sports link to their statement below.
BC high school sports will continue to monitor the latest from Canadian Health Authorities and provide updates as needed.
I am looking for people who are passionate about the sport of volleyball. I would like to offer those individuals the opportunity to give back to our Graham community. Our volleyball program is strong at Graham, both in our results and our participation levels. Next year we will be running a grade 9 girls team, a JV 9/10 team, and a senior varsity 11/12 team. There is even a possibility of running a boys team — probably one 9-12 team. Currently I am in need of a grade 9 head coach and a boys coach. I would also welcome people who would enjoy the role of being an assistant coach. If you would like to be part of our coaching staff, please respond to this email to get the ball rolling.
Senior Girls volleyball team win in straight sets over Southridge 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 to advance to the 5th place game tomorrow at Pacific Academy. A win would secure 5th place in the Fraser Valley Championships and give the team an opportunity to win their way into the Provincial Championships via a wild card tournament with teams from the Okanagan. Good luck girls!
Senior Girls Volleyball team played some great volleyball tonight, but lost a battle with MEI 3 sets to 2. The team now plays in a must win match against Southridge. First serve tomorrow night at 6pm at Pacific Academy. Good luck Grizzlies!
