Positive benefits of team-based extracurricular sports in regards to mental health.

Below is a tweet shared with us by Principal Sean Wicker.

A study out of UBC on the positive benefits of team-based extracurricular sports in regards to mental health.  We all talk about the Physical Literacy piece and its benefits, but don’t often mention the mental health side of things when we discuss our extracurricular programs or offerings.

#UBC study says team-based extracurriculars boost children’s mental health. https://t.co/8PHlWtpnhT

Looking for Volleyball Coaches!!

I am looking for people who are passionate about the sport of volleyball.  I would like to offer those individuals the opportunity to give back to our Graham community.  Our volleyball program is strong at Graham, both in our results and our participation levels.  Next year we will be running a grade 9 girls team, a JV 9/10 team, and a senior varsity 11/12 team.  There is even a possibility of running a boys team — probably one 9-12 team.  Currently I am in need of a grade 9 head coach and a boys coach.  I would also welcome people who would enjoy the role of being an assistant coach.  If you would like to be part of our coaching staff, please respond to this email to get the ball rolling.

Sincerely Yours,

Dane Larson
