Congratulations to our Senior Varsity Girls Basketball Team – Winners of round 1 at the Provincials.

The senior girls took care of business in round of the AA Varsity Girls Provincial Championship knocking off Little Flower Academy 92-56.

The girls now get ready to take on Vernon in the Quarter Final tonight at 8:15.  All games are at the Langley Event Center.  The girls game tonight is on the South Court in the back building.

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SENIOR VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

Congratulations to our senior varsity boys basketball team who punched their ticket to the AAA boys BIG DANCE last night defeated North Delta in the AAA Fraser Valley Semi-Final.  The Grizzlies were lead on the score sheet by Geevon Janday, Cole Wicker and Anmol Shoker (Anmol hit 6 of 6 threes in the second half to lift the Grizzlies over the #3 Provincially ranked team from North Delta. The final score 70-63.  The grizzlies also had big games from Matthias and Zack Klim and Ty Hall.

The Grizzlies will now take on Pitt Meadows in the Fraser Valley Championship game Friday Night at Clayton Heights Secondary in Surrey. Tip off is 8:00pm.

The AAA boys Provincials Championships take place at the Langley Event Centre March 6th to 9th.

RUGBY NEWS AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!

GRAHAM RUGBY.
The senior varsity boys Rugby team has been training hard for the start of the season. We are still looking for any athletes in the building that might want to try senior rugby. No experience necessary. If you like to run hard and hit hard come see Mouritzen or Coach Etsell in the PE office ASAP. It’s not too late to join Senior Rugby.
RUGBY FOR ALL GRADE 8, 9 and 10 BOYS
If you are interested in playing rugby at the grade 8 and or junior level this year, you must attend a very brief but important meeting at the lunch bell next Tuesday. No experience is necessary. If you want to try a new sport or are a returning player make sure to be at the meeting Tuesday in the second gym at the lunch bell.

Girls Rugby Starts next Thursday!!! Our first girls rugby training session is next Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 on our back field. This is our girls first training session ever!! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Come out and try a new sport. If you haven’t already signed up, come sign up in the PE office today!!

Senior Varsity Basketball News!!!

Congratulations to the senior Varsity Boys basketba team who knocked off #3 ranked North Delta last night in the Fraser Valley semi Final. The win advances the team to the Fraser Valley Championship game tomorrow night at 8:00pm in Clayton Heights. You can now sign up in the PE office for the Friday Fan bus to go out to the Championship game.

Congratulations to the Senior Varsity girls who defeated Little Flower Academy yesterday in the first round of the provincial championship. The girls now move on to play Vernon tonight at 8:00pm in quarter final action. Come sign up for the fan bus today.

The Grizz is ready to make the trip the girl’s game today and needs some help cheering. Come sign up for the fan bus heading to the Senior Girls Provincial Quarter Final action today. The bus will be leaving Graham at 6:15 pm and returning to Graham around 10:30.

SR. BOYS RUBY

Training for Sr. Boys’ Rugby is well underway. Training is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:15-4:45 pm @ GW. Location and times may change due to field conditions. Changes are posted on the Sr. Boys group chat – see Ms. Etsell to join the group chat.

Graham 93 – Rick Hansen 68 Grizzlies finish the regular season at a perfect 9-0 and Clinch the League Championship.

The senior varsity boys took care of business last night on Seniors night taking down #7 AAA ranked Rick Hansen 93-68. The winner would win the regular season championship and earn the right to host the first two regional games in their own bard this Thursday and Friday.

Geevon Janday and Cole Wicker lead the Grizzlies in scoring, with Liam Dueck, Armaan Shoker and Jude Hall all coming off the bench to play huge roles in the win. This was the Grizzlies 9th league championship in 13 seasons at the AA and AAA level.

With the win the Grizzlies move up to #7 in the provincial AAA rankings and earn the opportunity to host the round of 16 and quarter finals in their own gym this week. The Grizzlies will open up the playoff Thursday night vs #8 from the west (DW Poppy). Tip off is 8:15. With a win Thursday night the Grizzlies will play again at 8:15 on Friday night against the winner of Delta vs Robert Bateman.

Come out and support your local Grizzlies in their bid for a provincial championship!!
